“Children in a Fruit Tree”
Four of the Sutcliffe children taken at Ewe Cote Hall on the outskirts of Whitby where the family lived for a number of years after moving from Leeds in 1871. Kathy, the eldest, is standing on the ladder whilst Horace is resting in the tree. Evelyn holds the dog and Irene looks on. Zoe, the youngest member of the family, is missing from this photograph.
Sadly, Horace died quite young so plans for him to follow in his father’s footsteps did not come to pass.
